Frequently Asked Questions:

What does "Casa" mean?

"Casa" means "house" in Spanish. This was inspired by one of my early clients who in their notes welcomed me to their "casa". Thus, Creature & Casa Care is the title used to describe the house and animal sitting services that I provide.

Can you meet my pets before my trip?

Yes! Once I have received your booking request (either through a direct message or a Request Form), I will contact you to schedule a time that works best for a Meet & Greet, which is an in-person meeting to introduce everyone to each other, to determine whether this is the right fit, and to go over job details. This complimentary 30-60 minute previsit is standard procedure to ensure the safety of client, care provider, creatures and casa. (If you are a repeat client, a Meet & Greet is not required unless there has been significant changes between jobs. Each booking includes 1 free previsit; extra previsits cost an additional trip charge.)

Do you care for farm animals?

Yes; in addition to horses, ponies, chickens, pigs and goats, I am teachable for anything new.

For an Overnight Stay, do you sleep at my house?

That's up to you. Due to both the stress relief of indoor pets and the security of having someone present at the home throughout the night, this has been the popular choice. However, it is not required; it entirely depends on whatever you are most comfortable with. (Note that travelling to and fro the job location will incur extra trip charges. If sitter stays in the home, client will provide adequate sleeping arrangements.)

Do you have Venmo or Paypal?

Creature & Casa Care is old fashioned and accepts only cash or check as forms of payment at this time. Consult the sitter for more details on payment methods.

Do I pay you before or after?

Before your trip I provide an estimate, and afterwards an invoice is made available detailing the exact price amount. You may pay in part or in full upfront, or wait until you come back. Total is due within 10 days after your return. Payment (cash or check) may be mailed, or may be picked up by the sitter for an additional trip charge. Pickups include optional in-person debrief.

Consult the sitter for more details on payment methods.

Do I live too far away?

With pricing that accounts for within a 40 mile radius from my home base and beyond, I would be more than happy to accommodate and meet you where you are.

Should I write instructions for caring for my house/pets?

Yes. I will additionally be taking notes during a previsit (otherwise known as a "Meet & Greet"), but it is always helpful for the client to provide written/typed instructions for care. I am here to adapt to your household's specific routines and needs; the more information I have, the better equipped I am to do just that.

Can you do babysitting?

No, I do not provide babysitting services at this time, I will not house/animal-sit with another human present. Only exceptions are workers that come strictly during business hours (i.e. construction, remodeling, cleaning, landscaping, etc.). Failure to disclose any other persons expected to be present at your home before your trip may incur a Late Notice Fee.

Are rates negotiable?

The Rates for this professional and reliable service have been standardized to help bring clarity across the board for the various kinds of sitting jobs I do, and are thus non-negotiable. With your help, I am able to continue providing this service at such affordable prices while maintaining my costs of living. This said, if you are unable to meet these rates, please reach out to me and I will be happy to discuss an indivisualized plan for your situation.
